Regular Season Round 27: Nishinomiya S. - Fukushima 104-90

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Hyogo. Second ranked Nishinomiya S. faced 4th placed Fukushima. Host Nishinomiya S. (17-10) defeated guests from Fukushima (9-16) 104-90. Nishinomiya S. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 40 and made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Nishinomiya S. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners and scored 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: DePaul) accounted for 12 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) came up with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists and American-Jamaican forward Staphon Blair (206-93, college: UCF) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Fukushima in the defeat. Five Nishinomiya S. and four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nishinomiya S. maintains second place with 17-10 record behind leader Shinshu BW. Fukushima at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 16 games lost. Nishinomiya S.'s next round opponent will be again Fukushima (#5) at home.
