It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CD Castro. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a good game for American guard DJ Ursery (193, college: Alaska-Anch.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import Scott Cutley (196-85, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Cutley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Cedric Blossom (198-94, college: Morgan St.) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian guard Esteban Cantarutti (185-88) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for CD Castro. CD Castro's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Universidad Catolica. They moved-up to second place, which they share with CDU Concepcion. CD Castro at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Universidad Catolica will play against Los Leones (#4) in Quilpue in the next round. CD Castro will play at home against AB Ancud and hopes to get back on the winning track.
