Regular Season Round 15: CD Puerto Varas - Temuco 85-72

Date: December 21, 2019
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Temuco (7-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked CD Puerto Varas (9-8) 85-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Deangelo Kirkland (203-89, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Panamanian guard Eugenio Luzcando (190-95, college: Idaho St.) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five CD Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was A Sainrtilus who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Felipe Acuna (182-92) added 21 points respectively. CD Puerto Varas moved-up to fourth place. Loser Temuco dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. CD Puerto Varas will face league's second-placed Deportivo Valdivia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Temuco will play against the league's second-placed Universidad de Concepcion and hope to win that game.
