Regular Season Round 15: Quilicura - Puerto Montt 75-85

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Puerto Montt (8-10) won against on the road 6th ranked Quilicura (2-13) 85-75 on Saturday. Quilicura was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Canadian point guard Alex Johnson (178-88, college: NC State) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. The former international center Jorge Valencia (206-77) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Abiodun Adegoke (203-91, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU, agency: Prestige Sports) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five Puerto Montt and four Quilicura players scored in double figures. Quilicura's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Puerto Montt. They maintain fourth place with 8-10 record, which they share with Los Leones. Loser Quilicura keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Puerto Montt will face league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quilicura will play at home against the league's leader Puente Alto (#1) and hope to win that game.
