No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Besancon (6-11) won against on the road 13th ranked Feurs EF (2-15) 84-79 on Saturday. Besancon made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Lithuanian forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and British-Canadian forward Jermel Kennedy (201-89, college: Lander) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Jonathan Beugnot (200-83, college: Clayton St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Guinean forward Cedric Mansare (198-85) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Besancon and four Feurs EF players scored in double figures. Feurs EF's coach Benjamin Avon tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Besancon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Bordeaux. Feurs EF lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Besancon will face higher ranked Avignon/Pontet (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Feurs EF will play against the league's leader C'Chartres (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
