Very predictable result when fifth ranked Pinheiros (9-5) won against on the road 12th ranked Brasilia (5-9) 86-79. 24 personal fouls committed by Brasilia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Betinho Nardi-Duarte (195-88) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds.
