Regular Season Round 15: Puente Alto - Las Animas 78-97

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Puente Alto (11-6) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Las Animas (14-2) 97-78. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Puente Alto. Las Animas shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kristian Clarkson (202-84, college: Widener) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Rick Jackson (206-89, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Las Animas' coach Lucas Zurita used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) added 9 points and 8 assists respectively. Five Las Animas and four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Las Animas have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record which they share with defeated Puente Alto. Puente Alto at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Las Animas are looking forward to face Puerto Montt (#5) on the road in the next round. Puente Alto will play against Quilicura (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
