Regular Season Round 12: Torun - Arka Gdynia 44-66

EBLK top team - Arka Gdynia (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Katarzynki (2-10) in Torun 66-44. Arka Gdynia dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Katarzynki's 20. Arka Gdynia forced 19 Katarzynki turnovers and outrebounded them 45-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by German center Marie Gulich (194-94, college: Oregon St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and German power forward Sonja Greinacher (190-92, college: Gonzaga, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) supported her with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Even 8 points and 8 rebounds by American swingman Naomi Davenport (183, college: WVU) did not help to save the game for Katarzynki. Her fellow American import center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) added 11 points. Arka Gdynia have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Katarzynki at the other side keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Arka Gdynia will play against league's second-placed AZS Gorzow in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Katarzynki will play on the road against AZS UMCS (#5) in Lublin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
