Regular Season Round 21: Lahti - Kataja 86-69

We should mention about the upset which took place in Lahti, where higher ranked Kataja (9-10) lost to tenth ranked Lahti (7-13) in a road game 69-86 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Lahti. Kataja managed to win second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Lahti had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Logan McLane (206-95, college: Miami, OH) stepped up and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Courtney Stockard (196-95, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 19 points and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Lahti players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Earvin Morris (196-94, college: UTEP) with 26 points and Jamaican-Canadian point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-91, college: Calgary) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Lahti have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Loser Kataja dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Lahti will meet higher ranked KTP Basket (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kataja will play against Kobrat in Lapua and hope to secure a win.
