Regular Season Round 14: Basket Scafati - Bergamo Bsk 117-84

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Bergamo Bsk (2-12) was outleveled on the road by ninth ranked Basket Scafati (7-7) 117-84 on Sunday. Basket Scafati dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Bergamo Bsk's 44 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Basket Scafati looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard JJ Frazier (178-95, college: Georgia) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Basket Scafati's coach Giovanni Perdichizzi felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. British guard Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye (193-96, college: Bradley) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ruben Zugno (186-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Bergamo Bsk. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basket Scafati moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Bergamo Bsk keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Basket Scafati will face 2B Control TR (#11) in Trapani in the next round. Bergamo Bsk will play at home against Derthona TRT and hope to win that game.
