A very interesting game took place in Ashdod. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 12th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (1-10) to eleventh ranked Beer Sheva (4-6) 79-77 on Sunday evening. Beer Sheva players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward DaSean Butler (201-88, college: WVU, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward John Petrucelli (193-92, college: Molloy) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Tzuf Moshe (190-97) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Beer Sheva moved-up to eighth place. Maccabi Ashdod lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Beer Sheva's next round opponent will be league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#4) in Nes Ziyona and hope to win that game.
