Regular Season Round 14: Leon - Betanzos 61-86

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Betanzos (3-8) outleveled on the road 11th ranked Leon (3-8) 86-61 on Sunday. Betanzos shot 60.8 percent from the field. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and Fernando Vidal (200-97) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Betanzos players scored in double figures. Swedish forward Musa Jeng (202-99) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Daniel Sanz (180-99) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Betanzos moved-up to eleventh place in Group A-B, which they share with Leon and Xiria. Leon lost fourth consecutive game. Betanzos will face Xiria (#13) in Carballo in the next round. Leon will play on the road against La Antigua in Salamanca and hope to win that game.
