There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Almozara (3-10) won against at home higher ranked Arenys (5-8) 78-65 on Sunday. Almozara looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Victor Alijarde (-97) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jorge Bermudez (187-97) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Oscar Heras (181-99) responded with 21 points and power forward Roger Almuni (204-89) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Almozara moved-up to twelfth place in Group C-A, which they share with Calvia and Boet. Loser Arenys dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Almozara will face Calvia (#12) at home in the next round.
