Regular Season Round 15: Le Mans - ASVEL 58-76

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked ASVEL (8-6) won against on the road 11th ranked Le Mans (6-10) 76-58 on Monday. ASVEL looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Marcus Gomis (187-0) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Victor Diallo (200-1) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Senegalese Dahaba Magassa (192-2) came up with 24 points and swingman Brahim Dohou (193-99) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Le Mans in the defeat. Le Mans' coach Mathieu Lemercier rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. ASVEL moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nanterre and Roanne. Le Mans lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. ASVEL will meet at home Gravelines (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Le Mans will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez and hope to secure a win.
