Very predictable result when sixth ranked Nantes (8-4) beat at home bottom-ranked Poitiers (1-11) 83-67. 25 personal fouls committed by Poitiers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds and American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) supported him with 14 points and 6 assists. Four Nantes players scored in double figures.
