Rather expected game when 6th ranked JL Bourg (10-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Monaco (12-2) 94-89 on Monday. Monaco shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Norris Cole (188-88, college: Cleveland St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and the other American import point guard Anthony Clemmons (186-94, college: Iowa, agency: BeoBasket) who added 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Monaco's coach Sasa Obradovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Jackie Carmichael (205-90, college: Illinois St.) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian swingman Danilo Andjusic (195-91, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 17 points and 7 assists. Five JL Bourg players scored in double figures. Monaco have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-2 record having just three points less than leader ASVEL. Loser JL Bourg keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Monaco will face Cholet Basket (#5) on the road in the next round. JL Bourg will play against Boulazac Basket and hope to win that game.
