We should mention about the upset which took place in Bischwiller, where higher ranked Lille Metropole (6-6) was outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (5-7) 83-56 on Monday. Gries/Oberhoffen outrebounded Lille Metropole 55-25 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish point guard Josep Franch (193-91) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists and Israeli Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St., agency: Octagon Europe) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Lille Metropole's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gries/Oberhoffen moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Evreux and Aix-Maurienne. Loser Lille Metropole dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will meet at home league's second-placed Souffelweyersheim in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lille Metropole will play against Nantes (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
