Regular Season Round 8: Ashdod - Bnot Hertzeliya 68-65

Ninth-ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (1-6) made lots of trouble for second ranked Ashdod (6-1) on Monday. Ashdod managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent Michigan) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds. Point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St., agency: Ron Sport) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and power forward GMrice Davis (189-96, college: Fordham) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ashdod have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record behind leader Ramat Gan. Bnot Hertzeliya at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Ashdod are looking forward to face Ramat Hasharon (#4) on the road in the next round. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against the league's leader Maccabi Ramat Gan (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
