Very expected game when 9th ranked Gomel-Sozh (2-11) was crushed on the road by second ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (12-1) 72-38. Tsmoki-Minsk held Gomel-Sozh to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 25 Gomel-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 54-43 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Ala Murauskaya (187-85) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Ekaterina Rybalko (177-98) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Maryna Rakauskaya (173-92) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gomel-Sozh. Gomel-Sozh's coach Sergei Kuleshov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tsmoki-Minsk. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-1 record having just one point less than leader Gorizont. Gomel-Sozh lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk's next round opponent will be Victoria (#4) in Grodno. Gomel-Sozh will play at home against RGUOR (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
