The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Afula (8-2) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked H.Haifa (6-4) 83-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Afula. H.Haifa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Afula helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Jason Siggers (191-85, college: Albany) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Rakeem Buckles (201-90, college: FIU) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor) responded with 29 points and forward AlLonzo Coleman (203-89, college: Presbyterian) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. H.Haifa have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Afula at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Bnei Hertzeliya. H.Haifa is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Hasharon (#14) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Afula will play on the road against the league's second-placed Bnei Hasharon (#2) in Hod Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
