Regular Season Round 24: Shiga L-Stars - Shimane SM 84-85

A very interesting game took place in Shiga. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-14) to sixth ranked Shimane Magic (8-16) 85-84 on Wednesday evening. Shimane Magic players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a good game for American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) who saved his team from a defeat with 28 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 22 rebounds and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) added 21 points and 6 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Shimane Magic moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama G. and Kyoto H. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders (#1) in Kanagawa and hope to win that game.
