Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) notched 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for United. The former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) added 15 points for the hosts. Four United players scored in double figures. Cairns Taipans maintains fourth position with 9-9 record.
