NBA
Regular Season Round 64: Dallas M. - San Antonio S. 102-98
Date: December 26, 2019
An interesting game for Mavericks (20-10) which hosted in Dallas one of their biggest challengers Spurs (12-18). Second ranked Mavericks managed to get a 4-point victory 102-98. Mavericks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (221-95) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman DeMar DeRozan (201-89, college: USC) did not help to save the game for Spurs. Swingman Rudy Gay (203-86, college: UConn) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spurs' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mavericks maintains second position with 20-10 record having just two points less than leader Philadelphia 76. Loser Spurs keep the third place with 18 games lost.
