Regular Season Round 13: Liege - Aalstar 70-101

Bottom-ranked Liege Basket is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to ninth ranked Okapi Aalstar (5-6) 101-70. Okapi Aalstar shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Liege Basket's players. Croatian center Marin Maric (211-94, college: DePaul, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winners and American point guard Riley Lachance (188-96, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Okapi Aalstar's coach Trevor Huffman felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side center Justin Kohajda (204-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Francis Torreborre (184-93) scored 13 points. Four Liege Basket players scored in double figures. Okapi Aalstar moved-up to sixth place. Liege Basket at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Okapi Aalstar will play against higher ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#4) in Jemappes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liege Basket will play on the road against Kangoeroes (#9) in Mechelen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
