Regular Season Round 13: Toufarghan - Mashad 56-68

No shocking result in a game in Azarshahr where sixth ranked Mashad (8-5) defeated 9th ranked Toufarghan (5-9) 68-56. They outrebounded Toufarghan 42-29 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Corin Henry (181-88, college: Tarleton St., agency: Agency) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Emad Salmani (188-90) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian guard Kelvin Amayo (193-92, college: Loyola Mary) came up with 15 points and 4 assists and Nader Khazani added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Toufarghan in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mashad maintains sixth place with 8-5 record. Newly promoted Toufarghan keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Mashad's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Petrochimi in Bandar Imam and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toufarghan will play on the road against Raad (#11) in Tehran and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
