Regular Season Round 13: Mahram - Zob Ahan 80-83

Important game to mention about took place in Tehran. Eighth ranked Zob Ahan (6-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Mahram (10-3) 83-80 on Thursday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mahram. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Sajjad Pazrofteh (188-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Josh Stamps (196, college: LSUS) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Zob Ahan's coach Mehran Hatami allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international forward Mohammad Nikkhah (199-83) answered with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Mahram. Four Mahram players scored in double figures. Zob Ahan moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Mahram dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Naft Abadan. Zob Ahan will play against Kerman (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mahram's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tehran to the arena Chemidor.
