Regular Season Round 19: Koping Stars - BC Lulea 72-56

Not a big story in a game when 3rd placed BC Lulea (13-5) lost on the road to first ranked Koping Stars (15-2) 72-56 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Koping Stars. BC Lulea was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Koping Stars outrebounded BC Lulea 47-29 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Koping Stars made 9 blocks. BC Lulea's coach Peter Oqvist rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Koping Stars. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. BC Lulea at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Koping Stars will face Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Lulea will play against Umea and hope to win that game.
