Regular Season Round 14: Scrivia - Carugate 68-61

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Carugate (8-5) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Scrivia (8-5) 68-61 on Saturday. Forward Ilaria Bonvecchio (175-94) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian center Emilija Podrug (190-79) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. Scrivia's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Veronica Schieppati (185-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Sara Canova (174-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 12 points. Scrivia moved-up to fourth place in A2. Scrivia will face league's leader Moncalieri on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Carugate will play against Ponzano (#12) and hope to win that game.
