Regular Season Round 29: Bambitious N. - Koshigaya A. 81-93

There was a small surprise in Nara where sixth ranked Koshigaya A. (8-21) defeated 4th placed Bambitious N. (12-17) 93-81 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bambitious N. 52-37 including 39 on the defensive glass. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Charles Hinkle (198-88, college: American) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and power forward Alex Stepheson (208-87, college: USC) chipped in 19 points, 25 rebounds and 4 assists. Koshigaya A.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Newly promoted Koshigaya A. maintains sixth place with 8-21 record. Loser Bambitious N. keeps the fourth position with 17 games lost. Koshigaya A. will have a break next round. Bambitious N. will play again at home against Koshigaya A. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
