Regular Season Round 29: Aomori W. - Ehime OV 101-88

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Orange Vikings (15-14) against fourth ranked Aomori W. (12-16) on Saturday night. Visiting Orange Vikings were defeated by Aomori W. in Aomori 101-88. Aomori W. shot 60.3 percent from the field. Aomori W. outrebounded Orange Vikings 38-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American swingman Lakeem Jackson (195-90, college: S.Carolina, agency: SDJ Sports) nailed a triple-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and point guard Toshio Kan (184-94) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Aomori W. players scored in double figures. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) came up with 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Orange Vikings in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aomori W. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 12-16 record. Orange Vikings lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 14 games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya. Aomori W. will again play against higher ranked Orange Vikings (#3) in Matsuyama in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orange Vikings will have a break next round.
