Regular Season Round 15: Zaragoza - Baskonia 101-80
Date: December 28, 2019
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Zaragoza as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Real Madrid) loss. International guard Carlos Alocen (189-0) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Danish swingman Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska) with 28 points and Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-91, agency: Wasserman) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zaragoza (12-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Baskonia at the other side keeps the eleventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Joventut and Obradoiro. Baskonia will play next round against La ICL Manresa trying to get back on the winning streak. Zaragoza will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Andorra on the road.
