There was a small surprise in Minnesota where fifth ranked Cavaliers (10-22) defeated their close opponent Timberwolves (11-20) 94-88 on Saturday. They outrebounded Timberwolves 61-39 including a 47-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Timberwolves were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Canadian forward Tristan Thompson (206-91, college: Texas) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Collin Sexton (191-99, college: Alabama) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Robert Covington (206-90, college: Tennessee St.) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Kelan Martin (201-95, college: Butler) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cavaliers maintains fifth position with 10-22 record which they share with defeated Timberwolves. Loser Timberwolves keep the fifth place with 20 games lost.
