Regular Season Round 66: Portland TB - LA Lakers 120-128

There was no surprise in Portland where 4th ranked Trail Blazers (14-19) were defeated by first ranked Lakers (25-7) 128-120 on Saturday. Lakers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Trail Blazers' 52 and made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Lakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Trail Blazers' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lakers made 7 blocks. LeBron James (203-84) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 16 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) with 31 points and 9 assists and center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lakers maintains first position with 25-7 record. Trail Blazers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 19 games lost. Lakers will face league's second-placed Mavericks in Dallas in the next day and it will be for sure the game of the week.
