Regular Season Round 16: Corinthians - Flamengo 68-72

NBB top team - Flamengo (13-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Corinthians (8-7) in Sao Paulo 72-68. Worth to mention a quality performance of Argentinian point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 assists and the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) responded with 22 points and the former international Guilherme Teichmann (206-83, college: Tulsa) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Corinthians' coach Bruno Savignani tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Flamengo have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-2 record. Corinthians lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Paulistano. Flamengo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Corinthians will play at home against Sao Jose (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
