Regular Season Round 22: KTP Basket - Lahti 94-85

Very predictable result when fourth ranked KTP Basket (12-9) won against 9th ranked Lahti (7-14) in Kotka 94-85 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-85. It was a very good performance for American guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists. The other American import power forward Kevin Langford (203-85, college: TCU) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. KTP Basket's coach Tomi Kaminen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Taylor Johns (201-94, college: UC Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Tuomas Hirvonen (181-96, agency: HMS) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Lahti. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KTP Basket maintains fourth position with 12-9 record. Newly promoted Lahti keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. KTP Basket are looking forward to face Kataja (#6) in Joensuu in the next round. Lahti will play at home against Kobrat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
