Regular Season Round 16: Chanson V-M - Aishin AW 66-52

Rather expected game in Shizuoka where 9th ranked Aishin Wings (3-11) were defeated by seventh ranked Chanson V-M (7-7) 66-52 on Saturday. Chanson V-M dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Aishin Wings' 18. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Sanae Motokawa (176-92) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward AI Ishikawa (183-99) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Hikari Nichiri (177-93) responded with 11 points and international Kiho Miyashita (179-98) scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chanson V-M have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mitsubishi K. Aishin Wings lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hitachi Cougars. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face Hitachi Cougars (#10) in Hitachinaka in the next round. Aishin Wings will play on the road against Toyota A. in Nagoya and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
