Very expected game when 9th ranked Urania Milano (7-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Pompea MNV (10-5) 78-72 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points. His fellow American import center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) helped adding 18 points and 9 rebounds. Pompea MNV's coach Alessandro Finelli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Nikolas Raivio (193-86, college: Portland, agency: Pensack Sports) with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Matteo Montano (188-92) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Pompea MNV maintains second place in A2 with 10-5 record behind leader Edilnol Bl. Newly promoted Urania Milano keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Pompea MNV will face Kleb Ferrara (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Urania Milano will play against GSA Udine and hope to win that game.
