Regular Season Round 15: Zeus NPC Rieti - Blu Basket TVG 70-63

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Zeus NPC Rieti (8-7) won against at home 5th ranked Blu Basket TVG (8-6) 70-63 on Sunday. Zeus NPC Rieti forced 19 Blu Basket TVG turnovers. Blu Basket TVG was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Marco Passera (180-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Giovanni Vildera (205-95) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Zeus NPC Rieti players scored in double figures. Zeus NPC Rieti's coach Alessandro Rossi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Lorenzo Caroti (185-97, agency: Players Group) scored 15 points. Zeus NPC Rieti moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Blu Basket TVG keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Zeus NPC Rieti will face Derthona TRT (#7) in Tortona in the next round. Blu Basket TVG will play at home against Basket TO and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
