Regular Season Round 26: Ryukyu GK - Shimane SM 89-69

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Shimane Magic (8-18) was outleveled by first ranked Ryukyu GK (18-7) in Okinawa 89-69 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Shimane Magic 40-23 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American players dominated also this game. Forward DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) replied with 24 points and DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-7 record. Newly promoted Shimane Magic dropped to the fourth place with 18 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's leader Tochigi B. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play against San-en NeoPhoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
