Regular Season Round 30: Hiroshima D. - Fukushima 91-78

No shocking result in a game in Hiroshima where first ranked Dragonflies (25-5) defeated 5th ranked Fukushima (9-19) 91-78 on Sunday. They outrebounded Fukushima 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. Dragonflies looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) who recorded 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Jamaican forward Staphon Blair (206-93, college: UCF) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Dragonflies have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-5 record. Fukushima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 19 games lost. Dragonflies will face Ibaraki R. (#3) in Tsukuba in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fukushima will play at home against the league's leader Shinshu BW and hope to win that game.
