Regular Season Round 7: Al Wakrah - Qatar Club 95-77

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Wakrah as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Wakrah defeated 4th placed Qatar Sports Club at home 95-77. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Wakrah dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Tevin Glass (206-94, college: ETSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) helped adding 31 points and 9 rebounds. Five Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201-95, college: Davis & Elkins) responded with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Qatar Sports Club at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Qatar Sports Club will play next round against strong Al Shamal trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena of Al Shamal. Al Wakrah will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
