Regular Season Round 26: Ryukyu GK - Shimane SM 75-70

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Ryukyu GK (18-7) defeated 6th ranked Shimane Magic (8-18) in Okinawa 75-70 on Monday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. International guard Narito Namizato (172-89) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-7 record. Newly promoted Shimane Magic dropped to the fourth place with 18 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's leader Tochigi B. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play against San-en NeoPhoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
