Bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of nine consecutive losses. This time they won against fourth-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona in Nes Ziyona 97-88. They outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 41-25 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Maccabi Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The former international forward Lior Eliyahu (205-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Maccabi Ashdod will play against higher ranked Rishon (#3) in Rishon Le-Zion in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play at home against Maccabi Haifa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
