Very expected game in Hiroshima where 5th ranked Fukushima (9-19) was defeated by first ranked Dragonflies (25-5) 84-66 on Monday. Dragonflies dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Jamaican forward Staphon Blair (206-93, college: UCF) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Dragonflies have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-5 record. Fukushima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 19 games lost. Dragonflies will face Ibaraki R. (#3) in Tsukuba in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fukushima will play at home against the league's leader Shinshu BW and hope to win that game.
