Regular Season Round 30: Gunma - Kagawa FA 91-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gunma. Second ranked Gunma faced their close opponent Kagawa FA. Host Gunma (19-10) smashed guests from Takamatsu (20-8) 91-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kagawa FA. Gunma made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 52-31 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gunma looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-10 record having just three points less than leader Shinshu BW which they share with defeated Kagawa FA. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the second place with eight games lost. Gunma will face Kumamoto V. (#5) at home in the next round. Kagawa FA will play against Orange Vikings in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
