Top ranked Kings (14-6) recorded its sixth loss in Gwynneville. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Illawarra Hawks (5-14) 85-80. Illawarra Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 36. It was a good game for American power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: UConn) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International guard Emmett Naar (185-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 16 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Illawarra Hawks players scored in double figures. American forward JaeSean Tate (193-95, college: Ohio St.) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kings. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Illawarra Hawks maintains ninth place with 5-14 record. Kings at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. Illawarra Hawks will play against higher ranked Adelaide 36ers (#5) in Findon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kings will have a break next round.
