Regular Season Round 30: Gunma - Kagawa FA 103-109

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Gunma (19-10) was defeated at home by second ranked Kagawa FA (20-8) 109-103 on Tuesday. Kagawa FA made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who had a triple-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 12 assists. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 23 rebounds and 10 assists and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) added 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kagawa FA have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-8 record behind leader Shinshu BW which they share with defeated Gunma. Loser Gunma keeps the second place with ten games lost. Kagawa FA will face Orange Vikings (#3) in Matsuyama in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gunma will play at home against Kumamoto V. and hope to win that game.
