Regular Season Round 22: Shandong GS - Fujian S. 123-90

The game between fifth ranked Golden Stars (15-8) and 15th ranked Sturgeons (8-14) in Jinan ended with biggest points difference. Golden Stars outscored guests from Jinjiang 123-90. Golden Stars outrebounded Sturgeons 51-40 including 20 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 20 long-distance shots on high 52.6 percentage. Golden Stars players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sturgeons' players. Sturgeons were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: UT Martin) had a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Central African-American power forward James Mays (205-86, college: Clemson) chipped in 22 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international center Zhe Sun (220-90) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Golden Stars and four Sturgeons players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Golden Stars have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beijing Ducks and Beijing RF. Sturgeons at the other side keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Golden Stars will play against bottom-ranked Bayi Rockets (#20) in Ningbo in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sturgeons will play at home against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
