Another exciting game was played in Hod Hasharon between first ranked Afula and second-ranked Bnei Hasharon where Afula (9-2) beat Bnei Hasharon (8-3) on the road with 15-point difference 93-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bnei Hasharon. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Afula shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Naturalized American forward Ben Carter (206-94, college: Michigan St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Orr Leumi (192-96) answered with 28 points and Noam Avivi (202-99) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Afula maintains first place with 9-2 record. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Afula will play against bottom-ranked Hasharon (#14) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bnei Hasharon's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Hod Hasharon Hasharon.
