Regular Season Round 72: Boston C. - Atlanta H. 109-106

Fifth-ranked Hawks (7-28) gave a tough game to first ranked Celtics (24-8) in Boston. Celtics managed to secure only three-point victory 109-106. However their fans expected much easier game. Celtics dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks' 46. They outrebounded Hawks 54-42 including 42 on the defensive glass. Celtics players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Hawks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by forward Jaylen Brown (201-96, college: California) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Marcus Smart (193-94, college: Oklahoma St.) supported him with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Celtics players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists by guard Trae Young (188-98, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Hawks. Guard Kevin Huerter (201-98, college: Maryland) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Celtics maintains first position with 24-8 record. Hawks at the other side keep the fifth place with 28 games lost. Celtics will play against Bulls (#3) in Chicago in the next day, which may be the game of the day. Hawks will play at home against the league's second-placed Pacers and hope to get back on the winning track.
